Cellist Brandon Voo graduated with a Bachelor of Music with Honours from the class of Nella Hunkins, Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore in June 2008. He is also the first native born Singaporean cello performance major to graduate from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, and a recipient of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory Scholarship for four years.

Brandon was principal cellist with the Singapore National Youth Orchestra (SNYO), where he was a beneficiary of the SNYO Tuition Scheme under the auspices of the Singapore Ministry of Education and went on concert tours with the SNYO to Japan and Australia in 1993 and 1997. From 1998 till 2000, he served his National Service as Principal Cellist with the Singapore Armed Forces Music and Drama Company Chamber Ensemble.

A prolific musician, Brandon's professional performing experience include stints as a freelance cellist with the Singapore Festival Orchestra (SFO) and the Singapore Lyric Opera (SLO). A founding member of the SFO, Brandon’s upcoming season includes ‘Martial Arts Trilogy’ as part of the Huayi Chinese Festival of Arts 2012 and also with the Singapore Lyric Opera‘s (SLO) production of 'Don Giovanni’ in February 2012. He has recently concluded a very successful performance of ‘Giselle' from 19-21 Jan 2012, accompanying the Paris Opera Ballet as part of the SLO. His ensemble experience also extends to fill in principal cellist for chamber ensembles, the most recent being ‘Concertare: A Concerto Project’ at the School of the Arts (SOTA) on 25 September 2011. Besides classical music, Brandon also frequently crosses over to the genre of pop, frequently accompanying international as well as local acts. He was a backup musician with Singapore Idol 2009, and the following year with David Foster during the Singapore Sun Festival 2010. The year 2011 also saw greater involvement in pop productions, performing as part of the SLO in 'La Voce', a concert featuring world renowned tenor Russell Watson, and Singaporean pop vocalists Bevlyn Khoo and Jerome Won. Brandon’s performances can also be heard on Youtube in HD format for ‘Concertare: A Concerto Project’, a live performance at the Esplanade Recital Studio of songs from Bevlyn Khoo’s album ‘Feel About You’ as well as the MV from Jerome Won’s recently released Mandarin EP 'Warm Hands'.

Closer to Brandon’s heart, however, is classical chamber music. Brandon made his debut with the Incursion Trio in 2008 and subesquently performed with them at the Académie de Musique Tibor Varga Summer Academy 2008 in Switzerland. His most recent performances with the Incursion Trio include ‘Popular Classics’ in August 2010, playing the 'Triple Concerto for Violin, Cello and Piano in C Major, Opus 56' by Ludwig Van Beethoven in 'Popular Classics' with the Braddell Heights Symphony Orchestra as well as ‘Classics Revived’ a chamber music recital at the Esplanade Recital Studio in December 2011.
