I am new to this forum, i thought this is the most appropriate place to ask my questions.
I am 18 and i love books and to listen to classical music, most people think i am this weird girl that lives in 17th century. Anyways over the years i have fallen in love with the idea of learning to play an instrument. I would love to play cello very much. However over the years me and my family moved a lot, we haven't stayed in one place more than three years. This moving didn't allow me to take any extra curriculum activities and i never had the chance to start playing.
My question is, will it be possible to learn how to play cello even though i am 18 years old? Can i become not just amateur,but also a professional who can read fluently music and can perform solo pieces. Honestly i think i adapt and tackle new opportunities in my life;
Please tell me honest opinion. Please don't think i am underestimating other people's work by trying to achieve what some people learn for over 10 years, especially the people who have started at age of 5/6.
I just,i really want to learn to play cello,i will be very committed and i will do everything, to the best of my abilities in order to learn how to play.
How long will i need?
