Catherine is a professional music teacher and teaches piano, cello and music theory from beginner to expert level.

With over 10 years of teaching, Catherine specialises in preparing students in accordance with syllabuses as set out by ABRSM and Trinity grade exams. She also teaches talented young musicians in preparation for their 11+ entrance exam music auditions and other music competitions.

She tailors her lessons to that particular studentís learning style, whether it be through the Suzuki, Kodaly or other traditional teaching methods. She strives to have an excellent balance between theory based learning and practical learning.

Catherine is a seasoned performer and has performed and recorded in venues including the Abbey Road Studios, Wigmore Hall, St.James's Piccadilly, St.Martin-in-the-Fields, the Royal Opera House and the South Bank Centre. Catherine has recently been selected by Making Music Concert Promoters' Group for inclusion in their Selected Artists Brochure.

Her eclectic performing style, which follows a mix of German, Russian and French tradition, has been crafted by studying with many of today's leading cellists.
Catherine studied at the Purcell School with full scholarship before going to Germany to study the Music Diploma programme. A scholarship from the St.Albanstift supported her studies at the City of Basel Music Academy in Switzerland where she gained a Bachelor of Music degree. She later achieved a Master's degree in Cello Performance from the University of Music & Performing Arts Stuttgart in Germany, graduating with the highest honours for both degrees.
