Cellist Clara is a passionate musician, having over 10 years of performing and teaching experience.
She has a double diploma in cello from Singapore and France, having studied with professors internationally. Some include Antoine Foucher (CRR de Toulouse, France), Leslie Tan [YST conservatory, Singapore], and Viktoriya Rhodini (Donetsk S.S.Prokofiev Academy of Music (Conservatory)/ Ukraine). Through masterclasses, she also had valuable opportunities to learn directly from masters of Romania, Russia, France and UK.
Concurrently, she is expanding her skillset and has enrolled in studies for orchestral conducting and for the viola da gamba.
As a seasoned orchestra member, Clara has performed locally and abroad. She was a regular face in numerous local orchestras before moving to France, and twice was selected as a Singapore representative to perform with the Seoul International Community Orchestra in S.Korea. She now regularly plays with orchestras in France, professionally and for leisure.
As a teacher, she has actively taught privately and with MOE for almost 10 years. While continuing online teaching with her Singaporean students, she is also engaged with music schools in France to provide in-person lessons. With ABRSM syllabus being her strong suit, she is also able to customize lessons to students, and even arrange music to cater to the students' levels or preferences. Solfege training and theory are also part of her teaching capabilities.
On the side, Clara regularly arranges and publishes sheet music with Hal Leonard, predominantly for Cello and String Quartets. she is also available for commissions.
