World-renowned cellist Michael D. Fitzpatrick is the recipient of the Prince Charles Award for Musical Excellence, conferred by HRH The Prince of Wales—now His Majesty King Charles III.
For over three decades, Fitzpatrick has provided the Musical Keynotes for His Holiness the XIVth Dalai Lama’s Teachings and Public Talks around the world. He has performed as soloist for Pope Francis at The Vatican, with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra in Jerusalem, and at distinguished venues including the United Nations, the United States Capitol West Lawn, the Hollywood Bowl, and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Mr. Fitzpatrick performed the Musical Keynotes for The Vatican’s World Water Day Conference in 2017, where he met Sara Ahmed, Founder of the Living Waters Museum—beginning a collaboration that continues to this day.
His musical studies were at Yale University, New York University, Northwestern University, and the Cleveland Institute of Music. Based in the Bay Area, he is active in creative activities including writing, composing, recording, teaching, musically supporting humanitarian efforts, and concertizing worldwide.
